Captain's Log, Stardate..

The Victory is 4 hours from achieving orbit at Tarambar to pick up the Ráeru envoy, Heru Imlad and his entourage so that we may provide transportation to carry them to an agricultural colony which has suffered an apparent series of natural misfortune resulting in a bad harvest. I suppose we could have been sent worse orders, though I admit I will be glad to get this particular task over and done so that we can return to more interesting duties such as our primary objective, exploration.

At least we have the data collected from the derelict alien ship. Between the sensor data collected on the derelict itself, and the ship which we observed departing the system.. combined with the artifacts brought back aboard.. My crew shouldn't be too dreadfully bored while we perform our diplomatic duty.

I do have one private complaint about all of this..

Why do I always end up with the diplomatic functions where the other party have names which are next to impossible to pronounce...
