Mission: All this has happened before...
Location: U.S.S. Victory; Corridor
Timeline: 63281.949 {Mon, 02 Sep 2385 10:03}

Exiting Sickbay, after a moment to confirm that the XO was following she said "I need to check that the spare components for the emergency transfer board in engineering have been obtained and are aboard. I'm not going to have another instance of loosing emergency control because we don't have the right spare parts in storage.."

Falling into step beside her, Alec listened as Rhea spoke on where she was going and what she wanted for the ship. "I agree completely. We were caught off guard as well as with our pants down. This could have been so much worse. We're fortunate and lucky it wasn't."

She walked towards the turbolift, limping slightly. "As soon as the last of the re-calibrations are finished, we're going to depart the starbase and get back to our assigned duties."

"Sounds like a plan to me.I'm ready to get out of here. I'd rather being out roaming among the stars. Being here makes me feel restless, antsy," Alec replied as he matched his pace with Rhea's slower one.

"Especially with the apparent raids on civilian shipping taking place .." she replied. "The sooner we can get back out there and make a strong Federation presence felt, the safer the shipping lanes will be and we can relieve some of the tensions between Federation diplomatic officers and the colonies working on getting established here."

"Then lets hope the the repair crews are on their A game and can get those repairs done on time and on schedule." They reached the lift. He stepped aside to let Rhea enter first. He then followed her in. He studied her silently. So far they had just talked ship business, nothing personal. How long was Rhea going to continue to give him a cold shoulder? he wondered.

She was thinking about more personal issues as well, like..why he had found it funny she'd injured her ankle. Why her injury and pain had resulted in amusement...

As the lift started to move he spoke out. "Lift stop." Turning to Rhea, "I'm sorry about my behavior in Sickbay." As if reading her mind he continued, "I wasn't making fun or light of your injury. I was worried about you all the way from the bridge to Sickbay. Then when I saw you were relatively ago I was relieved but I couldn't kiss you in Sickbay. So I had to show my relief some other way and I smirked and it was wrong, horribly wrong. Please forgive me."

"You have an odd way of showing relief.." she answered in a quiet voice.

He stepped closer her, his arms going around her waist,"Then I want to give you reason never to doubt how I feel about you and how much I love you." As he leaned forward and kissed her fully on the lips.

She let him kiss her, pulling her in closer to him so that she could wrap her arms around his neck. When the kiss ended, she didn't move away but said, "You still have an odd way of showing relief.."

He leaned his head forward do his touched hers, "I'm sorry Rhea, I really am. It won't happen again. I didn't mean to upset you or make you think I was enjoying your injury. Please forgive me."

"Hmmmm..." was her response. She was silent a moment, then said "Maybe.. if you convince me that you are sincere.. I'll give you the chance to make it up to me tonight.."

He lifted her chin so he could kiss her again. This time it was deep and slow and showed. he held it for several seconds, when he broke it he asked, "Your private dining room? Candlelight dinner with all the trimmings, soft music, Some vintage wine and of course the pleasure of your company. What do you say?"

She smiled a little, "It's a good start.."

He smiled in return, "Thank you. Say 1800 hours?"

"You have a date Commander.." she answered.

He grinned happily, "Fantastic! You won't regret this Rhea, I promise, just wait and see."
