Personal History | Adoptive son of Jack and Leslie Forest. Dylan was the sole survivor of a shuttle crash which took the lives of everyone on board, including his parents. He was brought to Starfleet Medical for treatment, where Drs Jack and Leslie Frost were the attendings. Dr Jack Forest was the chief of surgery at SM, and Dr Leslie Forest was the chief of Thoracic Surgery. Dylan's injuries were extensive, multiple broken nones, collapsed lungs and spinal injuries and a concussion. At first glance he was not expected to survive. After a 15 hour surgery, he remained on the critical list. A week later, his vitals started to improve. He regained consciousness 6 days later. He had no memory of his name or where he lived. The Frosts were daily visitors to his room. A search of Starfleet records showed no data for the boy. A review of the shuttle's manifest returned no data. Testing indicated that the boy was about 8 to 10 years old. The Forest's, who had no children, decided to adopt the boy. Dylan grew up in the Forest home and showed an interest in medicine. IQ tests revealed that Dylan had a high IQ, boarding in the 140 ton170 range, indicting an exceptional intelligence. He advanced quickly in school, and skipped grades, and by 14, he was already a sophomore in high school. And at age 16 a junior in college. After graduating college. he enrolled in a pre-med course at Starfleet Medical. |
|
Service Record | Enrolling at Starfleet Medical at the age of 18 years of age. Cadet Forest took as many classes as he could, all majoring in surgery and critical care programs. He learned quickly and impressed his instructors. Starfleet Medical didn't believe in skipping grades, so he would graduate with his class to the next semester. He attended all his classes, plus some extra classes, then did rounds in the evening, following the doctors around. He tried not to show off in class, giving him the ability to show his classmates that he was just "one of the boys". He could have easily been the top of his class every year, but he didn't. When the class graduated, he stayed an extra 2 years for advanced training. He did several ship training courses. He did shifts on Starbase 1 in the Medical Unit. All his instructors had nothing but praise for him. He graduated with degrees in Surgery and Alien Physiology. He was assigned to the USS Enterprise F and Assistant Chief Medical Officer. |
