• 2209 C.E. Transporter psychosis is first diagnosed on Delinia II.
• 2215 C.E. The star systems in the Selcundi Drema sector are mapped for the first time by Federation unmanned probes. Drema V explodes in this year.
The Nexus is estimated to have crossed through the galaxy this year.
• 2217 C.E. USS Valiant makes first contact with Eminiar VII. Contact is lost with the Valiant when they become a casualty in the interplanetary war between Eminiar VII and Vendikar.
• 2219 C.E. Richard Daystrom is born.
• 2236 C.E. The SS Columbia expedition from the American Continent Institute crash lands on the planet Talos IV. Theodore Haskins and his entire party are killed, save one survivor named Vina. Before landing, the ship emits a radio-interference distress call.
Alpha Lupi goes supernova.
A Klingon terror raid on Doctari Alpha results in the presumed death of Mike and Gabrielle Burnham, and the loss of an experiment they were working on.
• 2237 C.E. The Ba'ul of planet Kaminar become warp capable.
• 2239 C.E. The USS Archimedes makes first contact with the Ba'ul after a communication is received from the planet. The Ba'ul High Council is found to be hostile, and the message received from a member of a pre-warp subject species, the Kelpiens. The Kelpien is extracted by Lieutenant Philippa Georgiou and given refugee status by the Federation.
• 2243 C.E. Richard Daystrom invents the duotronic computer and is subsequently awarded the Nobel and Zee-Magnees Prizes for his achievements.
• 2245 C.E. The USS Cayuga is launched.
The USS Constellation (NCC-1017) is launched under the command of Captain Matthew Decker. The ship begins it's first of three five-year exploratory missions.
April 11: The USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) is launched from San Francisco Fleet Yards under the command of Captain Robert April. His wife, Sarah April, is the vessel's first medical officer and Christopher Pike as April's first officer.
The inconclusive Battle of Donatu V is fought between Federation and Klingon forces near Sherman's Planet.
• 2247 C.E. The first of many thousands of lives lost in the Eminiar-Vendikar War in a star system of NGC 321 is recorded by the United Federation of Planets. After suffering for nearly two decades this mounting loss of life, the Federation would seek permission from the planet Eminiar VII for the construction of a treaty port in their star system in 2267.
• 2248 C.E. Starfleet loses contact with the probe Friendship 1, launched in 2067.
• 2249 C.E. Risa was admitted into the United Federation of Planets.
• 2255 C.E. The Sheliak attempt to communicate with the Federation, something they will not do again until 2366.
• 2256 C.E. The Battle of the Binary Stars occurs between Starfleet and Klingon forces
• 2258 C.E. In the official records of Starfleet, the USS Discovery is listed as destroyed.
• 2259 C.E. The Enterprise NCC 1701 makes official first contact with the Kiley, and the Shepherds.
The first known contact between vessels representing the United Federation of Planets and the Gorn Hegemony occurs after Enterprise NCC 1701 encounters several Gorn ships after they attack the Finibus III colony. Actual contact between crews is not made.
General Order 1 is renamed the "Prime Directive".
• 2265 C.E. Captain James T. Kirk assumes command of the USS Enterprise for an historic five-year mission of exploration. He is seen off on his first mission as commander of the starship by his brother Sam and his family. His father is also proud to see him off. Before assuming command, Kirk's emotional structure is tested by the Robbiani dermal-optic test.
The Enterprise becomes one of the first Earth ships to reach the edge of the Milky Way Galaxy, where they encounter the galactic barrier. Gary Mitchell and Elizabeth Dehner are among the Enterprise officers who die in the line of duty.
The Klingons and the Federation sign a peace treaty which they honor over the next three years.
• 2266 C.E. The Enterprise makes first contact with the First Federation after an encounter with Balok, commander of the flagship Fesarius. As an intercultural exchange, Dave Bailey transfers to serve on the vessel.
A Romulan ship crosses into Federation space and destroys several Earth Outpost Stations, ending over a century of Romulan isolation. This incident comes to be known as the Neutral Zone Incursion.
• 2267 C.E. The Federation observation outpost on the planet Cestus III is destroyed which leads the USS Enterprise to make contact with the Gorn, who are responsible for the outpost's destruction as well as the deaths of two Enterprise crewmen, because the Gorn claim the outpost was in their territory. The Enterprise also makes first contact with the Metrons, who become impressed with Humanity when Captain Kirk shows mercy and spares the life of a Gorn captain after the Metrons set up an arena-style conflict between the two of them.
The Treaty of Organia is signed by the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets, thereby preventing a destructive conflict between the two powers and paving the way for further approaches.
Nimbus III is jointly established as the "Planet of Galactic Peace" by the Romulan Star Empire, the United Federation of Planets, and the Klingon Empire.
• 2268 C.E. The Defiant is discovered by the USS Enterprise adrift in the interphase of Tholian space with all of the crew dead due to mass insanity. After Kirk is rescued from the ship, unknown to the Federation and Starfleet, the USS Defiant, courtesy of a Tholian tri-cobalt warhead, ends up in the mirror universe in 2155 stolen by Commander Jonathan Archer and the crew of the ISS Enterprise.
The Enterprise makes first contact with androids from the Andromeda Galaxy. This is made difficult at first due to the interference of Harcourt Fenton Mudd.
The USS Enterprise makes first contact with intergalactic beings the Kelvans from the Andromeda Galaxy. This first contact is at first difficult as the Kelvans attempt to hijack the Enterprise and kill one of the crew.
The USS Enterprise makes first contact with the xenophobic Melkotians.
The USS Enterprise makes first contact with the Eymorgs of Sigma Draconis VI after Kara steals Spock's brain to be used as the new Controller for that planet. McCoy puts Spock's brain back in Spock's head with the help of the Great Teacher, with the Eymorgs being forced to live, again, on the surface of that planet with the Morgs.
The USS Intrepid is destroyed and its entire crew of Vulcans killed, as well as the destruction of the Gamma 7A system, by an enormous space going single-celled organism.
The United Federation of Planets hosts the Babel Conference, which eventually results in Coridan's admission to the Federation.
A brief alliance between the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Star Empire occurs. This results in an exchange of technology and spacecraft design, most notably the cloaking device to the Klingons.
The planet Cheron's humanoid population destroys their cities and kills each other off in a civil war, making much of the planet uninhabitable to humanoid lifeforms; lower species animals encroach on and take over the cities.
The star Minara goes supernova.
Ceti Alpha VI explodes and turns the former M class planet Ceti Alpha V into a barren wasteland.
The Polaric Test Ban Treaty is signed after the near destruction of a Romulan research colony due to a polaric ion device explosion on Chaltok IV.
A Federation vessel makes first contact with the Children of Tama, but formal relations cannot be established due an inability to understand the Tamarian language, which is described as incomprehensible.
• 2269 C.E. The Enterprise makes first contact with the Excalbians.
• 2271 C.E. Kor leads the Klingons in the Battle of Klach D'kel Brakt against the Romulans, marking the end of the Romulan-Klingon Alliance.
• 2272 C.E. The Klingon Empire relinquishes its claim on the Archanis sector to the Federation.
The crew of the USS Enterprise encounter V'ger and guide it to enter its next evolutionary phase.
• 2284 C.E. Carol Marcus sends a next-phase proposal for Project Genesis to the Federation authorities.
• 2285 C.E. Project Genesis enters its third stage.
The Genesis Planet is formed.
The Enterprise is scuttled to prevent it from falling into Klingon hands.
The USS Excelsior, Starfleet's first Excelsior-class starship, is commissioned.
• 2286 C.E. While patrolling Sector 5 of the Neutral Zone, the Saratoga encountered a probe of unknown origin on a direct course to Earth.
The Yorktown under the command of Captain Joel Randolph. While deployed near the Sol system, the Yorktown was one of the many vessels disabled by the Whale Probe near Earth.
The USS Enterprise NCC-1701--A is launched under the command of Captain Kirk.
• 2287 C.E. Hikaru Sulu assumes command of the USS Excelsior.
• 2289 C.E. Negotiations between the Federation and the Klingon Empire take place on the Korvat colony. At the time, Curzon Dax was representing the Federation, while Kang represented the Klingons.
• 2293 C.E. The Klingon moon Praxis explodes.
The Khitomer Conference takes place, paving the way for nearly a hundred years of peace between the Klingon Empire and the Federation.
The Nexus; a powerful, destructive energy-ribbon and inter-dimensional portal is discovered by the Federation for the first time with the crew of the Enterprise-B. It claims the lives of hundreds of El-Aurian refugees aboard the SS Lakul and SS Robert Fox which were both destroyed by the ribbon.
Starfleet opens up a classified database on the Borg, likely due to the contact with the El-Aurians, a species which has nearly been wiped out by the Borg.
• 2297 C.E. A Klingon expedition makes first contact with the Ventaxians.
