The Fall
Location: Armory
Timeline: The Fall
Senior Chief Petty Officer Samantha Summers was in the ship's Armory, doing an 'head count' of the weapons available for Victory's personnel when Commander Hunter walked in. Summers turned around to face him. "Commander, Sir. Come to watch?"
Alec shook his head side to side as he walked into the armory, a smile crossing his face. "No Chief, I think your math skills are in good order. However I was lax in welcoming you aboard the Victory and I wanted to do it now." He looked at the weapons all around them, "Just out of curiosity, all weapons accounted for?"
Summers shook her head in a 'yes' mode. " It looks that way; been down the line twice and haven't seen any missing or unaccounted for."
Alec nodded in approval, "I appreciate your diligence Chief. Never know when they will come in handy." He paused for a moment, "So what do you think of the Victory?"
A somewhat wistful look came over Samantha's eyes and she smiled. " I think it's a great ship, with a great crew. And you?"
"I couldn't agree with you more. The Victory is a great ship, with a great crew. Captain Kennit isn't any slouch either. I think you'll find her to be outstanding."
Samantha looked at the Commander. "Sir, the scuttlebutt around the ship is that we have some 'guests' on board; Klingon guests to be precise. Any chance I might be able to take a peek?"
Alec leaned up against the nearest wall, crossing his arms across his chest. An amused grin on his face. "Really? Do tell." he then looked around and leaned forward whispering conspiratorially. "The scuttlebutt is right. Four of them in fact. Their in the Officer's Dining hall with the captain now. I'm on my way to join them. Finish up what you're doing and you can come with me and get your peek."
Samantha flipped a switch and turned to the Commander. "Done and done. Report is on its way to Lieutenant Casey. Now," *flexing an arm muscle,* " Let's go see those Klingon's and find how they 'measure'(Samantha drew an imaginary line from her toes to her head)up."
"Very good." Alec replied to Samantha's comment on the report being done. He chuckled and shook his head as she flexed her arm muscle."Alright Chief lets go and see just how these Klingons measure up. Though I don't you will be disappointed."
Samantha smiled and replied "Great. Lead the way."
"Your wish is my command." Alec replied ad they headed toward the Officer's Mess. As they walked Alec spoke up again. "So Chief
tell me a little about yourself. How did you end up here? Was the Victory a posting you wanted?"
"Yes, it was." Samantha replied. "When it, the position became available, I jumped at it. How about you?"
Alec nodded in agreement. "Pretty much the same. The Prometheus class is pretty much cutting edge and I wanted to be in on it."
Samantha nodded her head as she followed the Commander. She was interested in meeting Klingons, and just as curious as to what they may think of her.
They approached the Officer's Mess, Alec slowed and looked over at Sam, "Okay here's your chance to see some Klingons." As he pushed the door open, allowing Sam to peer into the mess where he could see Rhea's lithe form seated among the larger Klingons.
Samantha peered in, then slowly walked in and turned around to Alec. "Not bad, not to big, either..."
Alec grinned at her,"So they meet your approval do they Chief?"
Samantha turned to look at the Klingons once more, but forgot about that elusive bulkhead. Wham her head went into it face first.."Son of a bi.....!" She stopped when several heads turned to look her way.
Alec's hands came up to steady her, "Whoa, easy Chief. Lets get you to Sickbay where the doc can take a look at your face."
Samantha shook her head a few times. " I'm ok, Commander. I guess I was so wanting to 'see Klingons,' that I forgot about the ceiling here. I'm able to return to me duties. I do thank you for the opportunity to check them out. " She ended with a grin.
