Mission: Silence
Location: Brig
Timeline: Prior to arrival at the moon

USS Victory - Brig

Seated in the confines of her cell, though she'd heard no sound Summers looked up to see the Captain standing, leaning with her back to the bulkhead outside the cell with arms crossed casually. Just watching.

Seeing that the prisoner was aware of her presence, Kennit said "What are we going to do with you."

Summers looked up and into the eyes of the Captain.

Shaking her head, Kennit answered "I've had a long conversation with Vice Admiral Hanson regarding you. He is concerned that, as with Terran rats, where there is one Romulan spy.. there are more unseen.."

Summers took in a deep breath and let it out before speaking. " Well. If I said there are, would *you* believe me? If I said there weren't, would *you* believe me?"

The Captain just shrugged. "oh. I can think of several ways to encourage you to truthfulness. I doubt however, that you would find them nearly as entertaining as I."

Summers looked at the Captain. " I agree with you; I wouldn't find them entertaining either. Soooo, as to your 'request,' I sincerely believe that there in another Romulan 'spy' on board your ship. And before you ask, I don't know whom he or she might be. Sometimes we operate in tandem, sometimes separately, and this time I believe this person is acting on their own. They will know by now that I have failed in my mission, and will act accordingly. What *their* mission is, either to duplicate mine, i.e., blow your ship up, or an different one, I do not know. I can suggest something to you. Have your crew checked by your Doctors. If they found me,they'll find him or her. I would suggest the Doctors first check all of their Medical Staff, *then,* your Security Staff to clear them. Then start with the rest of the crew. But you'd best hurry. "

The Captain smiled, though it did not reflect in her eyes which remained dark and ice cold. "Dr. Anderson has already initiated a full analysis of the ship's crew. Her staff are quite competent. If there is another Romulan spy lurking aboard, we'll know soon."

Summers slightly smiled. " And...whom checks the good Doctor Anderson? And....who checks *you?* "

Kennit laughed, an honest and open burst of amusement at that statement. "I have bled often enough, and in enough quantity that there can be no doubt I am no Romulan. My blood is definitely not green as yours is."

Summers looked at the Captain and nodded. " True, but I got on board easily and with red blood in my veins at the time. But, *that* is another matter. My two questions to you are these: A) I don't want you to kill me, so perhaps working together we could bring out this other Romulan you're looking for. If he or she were to see me calmly walking the corridors, don't you think he/she would approach me? If I am closely watched, your Security could spring on this person and capture them. And B) May I have a cup of coffee, please? I've grown to like it.

"I am not certain trusting you to help flush out a potential 2nd Tal Shiar operative on my ship is a wise idea. You could very well become a target yourself.. and if anyone is going to kill you.. that is a privilege I reserve for myself." Kennit answered. "However, as to your second request..." she glanced over to one of the security staff and held up one hand, two fingers raised. "I will indulge you."

Summers nodded in agreement. "Well, I was figuring that my 'being out' might confuse him/her enough to try and get to me....but I see your point, all that is except your morbid enjoyment to be the one behind my demise. That being said, care to join me with a cup?"

The security guard returned, two mugs in hand. The first he gave to the Captain and then passed the second through the small acecess panel of Summers' cell.

Taking a sip of the coffee, the Captain paused a moment then accepted the not nearly as good as she was used to brew and turned her attention back to the prisoner in the cell.

Summers took a deep sip, and sighed. " Not bad, not what I'd call an ' Maxwell House Moment' coffee, but it will do. Now, I'd like to get out of ' this place,' and I can only assume from the way you ' laid into me,' that you'd like to see me dead, or near so. So, I'd like to ask you two questions, and I'd like honest answers that the two of us can work on. A) What exactly would it take for you to let me out of this jail cell, and B) What would it take for you or others, to not and try to kill me?"

"I don't know." The Captain answered honestly. "You tried to take control of my ship. Even though you failed...I have no reason currently to trust you."

Summers nodded. " Point taken. Obviously, I no longer have the power, or, am I even willing to try to, as you've said, ' ..take over your ship.' I just want to live. Is there any way I can work with you or for you and this ship?"

The Captain shook her head slightly, "That depends on you. There is an old earth saying...fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I don't intend to be fooled again.."

Summers nodded in agreement. " I don't intend to ' fool you again,' I'd just like to get out of this cell, and help you, to the best of my ability, to catch any other Romulan spy. Oh, and I'd like to apologize to Lieutenant Rondac, if possible."

"I'll pass it along..." the Captain answered.

Summers slightly smiled. " Thanks, I'd appreciate it. " She then got on the cell floor and began to do some push ups.
