Mission: Nibiru
Location: Space Station

Walker came in from the Airlock. He had his ruck on his back. He was carrying a stack of totes. He was met by an ensign with a hover cart. He loaded his totes. They contained his personal items for his quarters. His items for his office or for storage, depending on the nature of his assignment.

The ensign spoke, "Sir, I will take these to your temporary quarters. A visiting Admiral wants to see you in the staff briefing room." Walker went to an information panel. He followed the directions to the office. It wasn't a current Admiral, but a retired one, his Paternal grandfather. Walker went over and gripped his hand, "Sir, what are you doing here?"

His grandfather looked at him, "I am here for a couple of reasons. First, are you sure you are done with the Field Intelligence Support?"

Walker looked at the Older Walker, "My choices to do Field Intelligence and Deep Space Missions with low Comms, destroyed my marriage. I am going to have a semi normal career from now on."

The older Walker put his hand on Walker's shoulder, "We run headlong into battle. We fight longer and harder so others don't have to. She knew that when she married you. You protected your family from the field. You do this now so that your children can reach you, even in the Delta Quadrant, it will be easier than some of your previous assignments. Oh, your mother is putting in her retirement papers. She is on Vulcan for a while."

Walker looked at him, "Good. Despite Vulcan and Martial Arts training, it can be difficult to watch her go into the field."

The Older Walker looked at him, "You are almost half human. It is okay to have an emotional reaction. Your mother has almost died a couple of times in the past decade. You had to save her once. You don't have to maintain your emotions all the time. It was damn scary."

Walker looked at him, "Sometimes, keeping your emotions in check, is good for the job. Sometimes, you just have to let loose."

The older Walker, "Your mom wants you to look out for your younger cousin. She is being assigned to the Victory too."

Walker looked at his grandfather, "Do you have my orders?"

His grandfather laughed, "I'm retired. Talk to communications. I have to see a Half Betazoid Half Vulcan about some BBQ. Give this to your Captain. Only to her. Run her DNA if you have to." He started to walk away.

Walker had a Whiskey Tango Foxtrot look on his face, "You live in Texas." His grandfather ignored him and left. "What an asshole?"

Walker went to Communications and waited his turn, "Lt Commander Walker, Cullen O. The Admiral told me you had a package for me."

The Communications Officer, a Young Lieutenant answered, "Sir, I am having trouble getting the file. A lot of spacial disturbances." He put his head down and offered Walker a padd, "Sir, this is all I could get."

Walker looked at it, "This is going to have me walking around blind and deaf. I hate not having information. When can try and get them to resend my orders."

The Communications Officer answered, "Yes, Sir."

At 1000 hours, Relieve Chief Engineer so he can do the hands on information. Assigned to Victory as Officer. Keep ship running smoothly until Captain Arrives. She will give you the rest of your orders." Nothing else. There were a lot of gaps. "Fucking Great."
