Mission: We Will Take Care of You
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Concurrent with "And So It Begins"

The doors to sickbay opened, admitting the Captain into the outer waiting area. She looked about for a moment, then walked further into sickbay searching for Doctor Addams. A passing nurse directed her to his location, and she soon spotted him. “Doctor Addams.” The Captain called out. “Do you have a moment to speak? In private?” Kennit asked.

Zach stopped mid stride and turned smoothly. "Of course, Captain," he said, gesturing back down the hall towards his office. He walked past her and into his office, sitting down behind his desk. When the Captain had seated herself, he pressed a button, opaquing the windows and closing the office door.

"How may I be of service?" he said, sitting back and crossing his legs.

“I need you to run a scan on Commander John Logan, without Commander Logan being aware that he’s being scanned.” She told him.

Zach's expression didn't change, but he held the Captain's gaze for a moment before finally saying, "unusual. May I ask why?"

“Unusual without a doubt, but necessary. Commander Logan was declared missing, presumed dead over eight years ago, along with the entire crew of the ship he was aboard. No trace of that ship was ever found, or it’s crew until he reappeared. My husband, and our daughter were both on that ship. I need you to verify for me that he hasn’t undergone a surgical procedure to appear to be someone he is not. That he is, as far as can be determined, the man he claims to be. That he is John Logan, and not a plant sent here for reasons I can not even begin to imagine. For the safety of this ship and it’s crew, I have to get some sort of answer to the questions his existence here brings.”

Zach's eyebrows were up towards his hairline. "I see," he said. "I'll see what I can do. I can always order him in as a new transfer physical. If he refuses, I'll have to come up with something. I assume his medical records are available?"

The Captain nodded, “When he reported aboard his service record, doctored.. and all medical information was transferred per standard operational procedure. This man was ..he worked closely with my husband. For years. I don’t want him to know what you’re doing. That’s imperative.”

"I'll do my best," Zach said. "But for the type of detailed identification you're doing, it's going to be hard to keep that from him. There's no subtle way to take those kinds of tissue samples. I'll have to come up with a reason for the tests. Can you think of anything in his past that would warrant checking up on his health?"

“He was declared killed in action along with the entire crew of the USS Dark Victory when the ship disappeared almost nine years ago.” the Captain replied. “Of the entire ships crew, only Cmdr Logan has been found. And he was found alone, naked, on the surface of a planet, at the edge of the sector suffering from amnesia but no other serious injuries.”

"Well, there we have it then: extreme southern exposure," Zach said. He sighed and shrugged. "I'll have him in today."

The Captain again gave a small, short nod of her head. Then after a moment of silence she added, “Your discretion on this matter would be appreciated, obviously.”

"Obviously," Zach echoed, inclining his head. "I'll handle it personally."

“Thank you Doctor.” she replies. “I will wait for your results.” The Captain rose and turned to leave.
