Federation Treaties and Accords

Treaty of Algeron - Treaty between the United Federation of Planets and the Romulan Star Empire signed in 2311. The outlined a peace between the two government. The treaty also prohibited the use of cloaking technology to Federation ships. In 2371 the treaty was revised allowing limited use of cloaking technology for Starfleet ships as long as a liaison officer of the Romulan Government operated it, and its use was limited to the Gamma Quadrant. After the Dominion War, the treaty was revised again that allowed Starfleet to use cloaking technology as long as it is used outside the Alpha Quadrant and Cloaking devises can not be outfitted to long range vessels.

Treaty of Armens - Treaty between the United Federation of Planets and the Sheliak Corporate signed in 2255 which set the borders of Federation and Sheliak space. The treaty ended border disputes however contact between the Sheliak and the Federation is minimal and the Sheliaks do not want much to do with the Federation.

Treaty of Bajor - Treaty between the United Federation of Planets and the Dominion signed in 2375. The treaty outlined the unconditional surrender of the Dominion to the Federation Alliance, the independence of Cardassia and the end of the Dominion and Breen occupation of Caradassia. The Dominion forces completely withdrew from the Alpha Quadrant.

The Federation Alliance - Accord between the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire to form a alliance to combat the Dominion in 2373. In 2374 the Gorn Hegemony and the Romulan Star Empire joined the accord. In 2375 Cardassia defected to the Alliance during the final battle at Cardassia Prime.

The Federation-Cardassian Treaty of 2370 - Treaty between the United Federation of Planets and the Cardassian Union signed in 2370. The treaty brought a end to decades of conflict, and designated the Federation/Cardassian Demilitarized Zone also know as the DMZ. The Federation and Cardassians both gained and lost worlds in result of the treaty, which also started the radical group known as the "Maquis". In 2373 the treaty was broken by the Cardassian Union when they joined forces with the Dominion, however was reinstated in 2375 at the end of Dominion War.

Jankata Accord - Accord between the United Federation of Planets and the Cardassian Union signed in 2370 which prohibited either group of traveling into another quadrant with the goal of territorial expansion.

Khitomer Accords - Peace Accord between the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire signed in 2293. In 2372 the Klingon Empire withdrew from the Khitomer Accords due to the Federations condemnation of the invasion of Cardassia, however reinstated it in 2373. In 2375 the Khitomer Accords was extended to include the prohibition of use of Sub-Space Weaponry. In 2381 the United Federation of Planets and Klingon Empire invited the Romulan Star Empire and Ferengi Alliance to join the Khitomer Accords, they accepted.

The Klaestron-Federation Extradition Treaty - Treaty between the United Federation of Planets and the Klaestron Government signed in 2369. It allows the Klaestron authorities to extradite Federation citizens who commit crimes in the Klaestron system and all effective planets.

Neutral Zone Treaty - Treaty between the United Federation of Planets, Romulan Star Empire and the Klingon Empire signed in 2267. The treaty established the borders and bounderies of the Neutral Zone on all fronts. It also established the neutral planet of Nimbus III which was under the jurisdiction of all three governments. In the set borders no armed vessel may enter or pass. Violations are considered a act of war.

Polaric Test Ban Treaty - Treaty between the United Federation of Planets and the Romulan Star Empire signed in 2268. The treaty prohibited the research and development of poleric ion energy.

Seldonis IV Convention - Treaty between all major powers of the Alpha and Beta quadrant signed in 2248 which outline the treatment of prisoners. The treaty expresses that torture is forbidden and a prisoner of war is allowed to have a neutral representative to assist in the prisoners case.

Treaty of Cheron - Treaty between the United Federation of Planets and the Romulan Star Empire signed in 2160. The treaty forged a peace between the Federation and Romulan Empire and was the starting point of the formation of the Neutral Zone.

Treaty of Ectair - Treaty between the United Federation of Planets and the Romulan Star Empire signed in 2274. The treaty allowed Romulans access to non-Federation worlds along the frontier as long as they did not cross the Romulan Neutral Zone

Genesis Nonproliferation Treaty - Treaty between the United Federation of Planets and the major powers of the Alpha and Beta Quadrent signed in 2303. The treaty prohibits use of research and development of a Genesis device to be used as a weapon of war.

Treaty of Sirius - Treaty between the United Federation of Planets and Kzinti signed in 2290 which allowed unrestricted access to Kzinti space.

Treaty of Alpha Cygnus IX - Treaty between the major powers of the Alpha and Beta quadrent implementing a standard in interstellar law.
