Mission:
A Whole New World: Part 1 - Precipice
Location: Engineering
Nicole walked into Engineering, black bag in hand and swept the room, her eyes raking over the crew looking for her quarry. Spotting him at a diagnostic console, she threaded her way through the swiftly-moving technicians and sidled up beside him. "Afternoon Commander," she said. "I need a moment of your time."
Miguel was looking over a gel pack, nothing was wrong with it. He just wanted to make sure that his backups were in top condition in case they needed them to replace one of the ones already in service. He turned to see who it was that had just addressed him. He knew it wasn't any of his staff since they for the most part called him Chief or Miguel. "Ah Doctor what brings you to the heart of the Victory?" he asked with a smile on his face.
"Well to put it in Engineering terms, you require a level one diagnostic," she said, nodding towards his office. "My place or yours?"
Miguel sighed. He turned off the probe he was using, and motioned for her to follow him to sectioned off space that some called his office. "I'm at your disposal Doctor." he told her.
"Mind spreading that attitude around the rest of the crew?" Nicole said, pulling a tricorder out of her bag. "You'd think a base-line medical checkup required a full body-cavity search, the way some people avoid them."
Miguel shrugged "That's probably because some Doctors enjoy exam time a bit to much. As for me I could care less cause as you can see I take pride in keeping myself in shape." he told her.
Nicole smirked. "Going to guess weight-lifting combined with 'extreme'-something-or-other?" She set her tricorder and began circling him slowly.
"That and a healthy amount of cardio and yoga. You can never underestimate the benefits of flexibility." he told her as he waited patiently. "Of course you might have some.... issues getting the Captain. She has been known to be... resistant to sickbay visits."
"Well then, I'll have to do something about that." She snickered. "Cardio hm? Running?"
"Among other things. I try to change things up, keep the muscles confused so they don't get used to me doing the same type of exercise all the time." he replied.
Nicole chuckled again. "Well it seems to be working so far, but be careful about getting over-muscled. You'll reach a point where you're knotted too tight to scratch your own backside."
He laughed out loud "That's what the yoga is for. No I think I have just about as much muscle as I want." he admitted.
"Good to know," Nicole said, making an adjustment and looking at his eyes, pulling gently at his eyelids. "I prefer gymnastics myself. I do know the value of flexibility."
"Not just flexibility there, but strength as well." he told her. "Back at the Academy I wrestled against a Trill that just also happened to be a gymnast, that was the hardest match I ever had."
Nicole bit her lip and tapped his chin. "Open sesame," she said, feeling his throat gently
He opened up, although she was the first Doctor he had known in a long time that still checked a person's throat like that.
Nicole's brow creased. "Been having a dry-mouth problem?"
"Not to my knowledge, although I have felt a bit thirsty today." he replied.
"Waking up with cotton mouth? Need a couple drinks of water to make it go away?" Nicole said, tapping her tricorder.
"Yea." was his sole reply.
She nodded and sighed, pulling a padd out of her bag and making notes quickly. "I was afraid of that."
"Oh great don't tell me I've come down with something?" he asked. That's all he needed since the only time he had been off this ship was back when he board that frieghter a few weeks back.
"Yup. You have a chronic case of 'sleeping-with-your-mouth-open-itis," she said, trying not to smirk too much at his reaction. "Might want to consider a more ergonomic pillow. Not fatal, but leaves you open to catch something you don't want." She put her padd and tricorder away and pulled out a programmable hypospray. "Keep some water by the bed and if you wake up dry, drink it down. Try sleeping on your side for a bit to let the soft pallete rehydrate properly." She tapped in a setting and pressed it to his neck. "This should help for now."
Oh he was going to have to watch it with this one, she had an unusual sense of humor. "Aye Doc." he said with a smile.
"Good," she said, closing her bag. "See, now that wasn't so bad, was it?"
"Nope, but really didn't expect it to be either." he said with a large smile.
Nicole shrugged and hefted her bag. "Well, then I'll see you around Commander," she said, nodding goodbye and making her way out of his bay.
"Hope the rest of your visits go as easy." he told her. But somehow he doubted it.
