Mission:
All this has happened before...
Timeline: Before Senior Staff Meeting
Chris was on his way from his quarters, he went ahead and put his uniform on, in hopes that the doc would release him back to work. He was feeling great, well rested, and ready to get back on the bridge. "Hello," he said as he passed another crew member before stepping inside to find the doctor.
Nicole was sitting in her office, going through another set of data regarding samples they'd picked up on their previous missions when a nurse knocked on her door frame.
"What is it, Kevin?" she said, without looking up.
"Lieutenant Evans is here for his follow-up," he said, handing Nicole a padd.
She nodded and stood up. "Prompt, I like that. Thank you, Kevin."
He nodded and returned to his duties as Nicole walked out of her office, nodding to Evans. "Good morning, Lieutenant. You're looking well, how are you feeling?"
Chris smiled, he was excited to be getting back to duty and excited that he and Aidan might move in together "I feel great doc" he said still wearing his smile and hopped up on a bio bed.
"Good to hear," Nicole said, a genuine smile on her face. It always pleased her to see patients doing well. "You've certainly gained a spring in your step since I last saw you. Good to see you've rested." She flipped open a tricorder and scanned his midsection. "No trace of necrotic tissue...no major damage....good." She put the tricorder down. "Shirt off please."
He blushed a little bit and slowly pulled his shirt up and over his head. He shivered as the cold air hit his skin. "Always chilly in Sickbay," he smiled at Nicole.
"Keeps the ice in my veins flowing smoothly," she said, dryly. She pushed him onto his back slowly and prodded his stomach with her fingers gently, looking at the color of his skin. "Good," she said slowly. "All right, Mister Evans, you're showing no signs of infection and your precious torso isn't scarred. You are fit for duty. Try not to do anything to undo all my hard work."
He slid back on his shirt and smiled. "I'll do my best doc," he said in his usual country tone as he hopped off the bio bed.
Nicole checked the chronometer by the door. "We should get going. The staff meeting will begin shortly."
Chris nodded and gestured for the lady to proceed first. "Hey doc," Chris said with a smile, "can I start working out again?" he asked.
"I don't see why not," Nicole said, walking out into the corridor. "I wouldn't push yourself too hard, but a well-balanced exercise routine should help you get your strength back. Just start slow. That weak feeling will rebound on you if you push too hard too fast."
"Yes ma'am" he said with a smile as the two of them started walking down the corridor toward the turbo lift. "I like to keep in shape/" he was nervous and didn't quite know what to say to Nicole.
"Yes I can tell," Nicole said. "You seem the type who is a bit of a gym enthusiast. I prefer gymnastics to weights, personally."
As the two of them reached the turbolift and stepped inside he smiled. "I've never tried gymnastics." He paused and as the doors closed "Bridge!" As the turbo lift started to move. "I do enjoy weights and running."
"Where I'm from, running is very popular, but gymnastics are essential. Bulky, muscled bodies can't climb trees as easily. You'd be good behind a plow though," she said, eyeing him.
Chris laughed out loud. "My great-great-grandfather was a farmer and used a plow."
"Well he would fit right in on Rigel," she said. "Well, except for the ears." The lift stopped and she stepped out, heading for the conference room.
