Mission: Silence
Location: USS Victory

Bridge

Standing at the now integrated helm and operations console, the Captain awaited final confirmation that all personnel were aboard and accounted for so that they could get underway and back to work! Kennit was impatient to get underway; the sooner they completed the rest of their patrol, the sooner she could order course to FOB Anchorage and turn Summers over to a secure facility, after which the spy would no longer be her problem to deal with!

With her right hand plotting a course on the helm, and her left hand performing a last check that was now confirmed, Penny swiveled in her seat. "All ship's personnel are confirmed aboard. Additionally, all departments have checked in ready for departure. We're good to go!"

"It's about time..." the Captain replied. Walking toward her seat, she settled in next to the XO and said, "Lt. Naroot. Disengage umbilicals and release the docking clamps. Let's get out of here!"

"Aye, Captain," Penny said, plying her consoles. "Disengaging umbilicals and releasing clamps." The ship pulled back and quickly swung around. "Getting out of here at quarter...half...full impulse."

Watching on the viewscreen, as soon as the support structure of the docking arm slid out of sight the Captain said, "As soon as we pass the outer marker, set course bearing 287 mark 2."

"287, mark 2, aye," Penny said. As soon as her console signaled she hit the thrust. "Warp 5 engaged," she said. She sat back and arranged her consoles again. She definitely liked having more to do. Perhaps she should have a half-red, half gold uniform.

Yarin arrived quietly on the bridge and took his place at his station.

"Mr. Yarin." the Captain said without turning to look toward him. "We are heading into relatively unexplored territory. Run a continual series of navigational scans to map the sector around us as we push deeper into the quadrant. Especial notice should be made to identify star systems with potentially habitable worlds. Additionally, I want communications scans searching for transmissions on all spectrum's. Any star system which is determined to be the source of a previously unidentified transmission should be noted in the logs for report back to Star Fleet in order to make a further determination as to whether or not a First Contact approach is warranted."

"Aye Captain," Yarin said. "Initiating multi-tiered navigational scans into the quadrant, both narrow and broad, and communication scans are searching on all spectrums. Also Captain, in the event of a first contact mission I would like to be present, as noted in my personal file I have assisted in a number of First Contacts during my time on the USS Lyra."

Turning her gaze on the science officer for a moment, the Captain answered "I'll keep that in mind Mr. Yarin." Her personal thoughts on the subject however was that she'd rather face off with some giant space slug and a flock of deep space creatures with clawed wings with tentacled sucker mouths than be suckered into a First Contact situation. She could shoot at giant space slugs and weird space flocks of sucking tentacles...

Arashi arrived at the bridge and stood next to the doors to the turbolift. He wanted to make sure that the bridge was secure and safe for the crew. He wasn't sure of what to do so he did what he was trained to do.
