Mission:
Plaga Navis
Location: Corridor
Timeline: Current
After the meeting ended Alec hurried out after Rhea but she was already gone and out of sight. He was worried about her and in no mood to have her brush him off. His concern wasn't so much of boyfriend/lover put more (and taking Cassandra's advice) Of First Officer worried about his Captain. Rhea's rising temper in the meeting was unusual to say the least. *At least she punch anyone into the bulkhead* He thought to himself as he hurried down a corridor hoping he picked right. He was walking briskly but began to slow as he heard two raised voice ahead of him. One he knew was Rhea the other and he cringed at the thought was Torrance. Yet they were from the sound of their voices arguing. He slowed to a walk and then finally stopped as the argument continued. The argument was in a language he didn't understand and further fueled his resentment of Torrance for being able to converse in a language he was unfamiliar with. Why didn't Rhea take the time or make the time to teach him? He sighed again as the argument raged on.
“Mazēza iā hen dohaeragon naejot tatagon.” The Captain was snapping. “Iā graevenda insegardát lōagon ry se vasrie boa!”
“We sepār jiõraton se pakrot.” Torrance barked right back. “Pród é uēpa mulák ledia tāemīsos!”
Kennit drew her head back, expression derisive as she cut him off with a snort, followed by “Tāemīsos? Tāemisos?l. At that point, she did something fully unexpected and burst into laughter.
Alec listened silently as Rhea and Torrance's argument raged on then he heard something he hadn't expected. She was laughing. He was tempted to move from his position as he felt guilty standing there eavesdropping on her. He shook his head, he hadn't done anything wrong, why was he hiding? *Come on Alec!* He raged silently, "You haven't done anything wrong.* and as far as he knew neither had Rhea. They had always been honest and he wasn't going to go slinking around now. Sighing he bit his tongue and pushed off the wall and headed down the corridor and Rhea.
Nathan looked angry, clearly her laughter had not been the response he expected. “Bias ydrassis va Ēlíedar lantpyro byre Amos sētīles, se ēza issare mazverdāre Mirror pār!”
Her expression never wavered as she motioned toward an airlock hatch just a few paces away. “Kē se henujagon.”
Nathan followed the motion of her hand with a turn of his head, scowling at her he said “Oh hah hah. Funny.”
Alec moved down the corridor albeit slowly but he did move. He heard Torrance say a few words he could understand. He wished he knew what they were talking about and if he asked Rhea there was a better than good chance she would either refuse to answer or give him some sort of half ass answer.
“Oh now you want to speak standard..” Kennit drawled.
“There’s no word for ‘hah hah funny’ and you know it, the closest is ‘Miba ikís quotenka dor’ and that just doesn’t cut it.” he retorted in an irked tone, prompting her to respond with a decidedly hostile “Keligon se urnēbagin se valïtsossa jiōragon.”
As Alec drew closer to where the pair were he resented Torrance even more. He had a special connection with Rhea and he rapidly hated that fact, hated the man for using Rhea like he had. In Alec's completely bias opinion he was pond scum with no redeeming values.
"Bisa ikisis se syrje ozbaragon. Va moriot yrda!" Torrance barked after a moment, his attention briefly distracted by movement at the far end of the corridor and the realization of the eavesdropper.
Kennit shook her head, lifting one hand up in a forestall/stop motion. "Adere naejot pirta. Se udir pryjatan.." she pointed once more at the emergency airlock hatch and repeated, “Kē se henujagon.” She turned away, starting to walk down the passageway, her back towards their attentive audience. Torrance tried to stop her by moving to block her path, only to be physically lifted by the collar of his jacket, moved to one side and dropped as she walked past him, turned the corner and departed. Entering a lift there at the corner, she depressed the control to close the doors and did indeed, leave.
*Shit!* Alec thought bitterly. As he was spotted, not that he didn't expect it but he had wanted to surprise Rhea and Torrance. Now that opportunity was gone. Worse, Rhea had turned and walked away. Leaving him staring at a man he despised. Sighing, he started past Torrance having no desire to speak or interact with him whatsoever. He would speak or try to speak with Rhea had a more opportune time if one existed. Maybe he could get some answers but somehow he doubted it.
