1,143 words; about a 6 minute read

Mission: Plaga Navis
Location: Bridge
Timeline: Just after Bishop takes Queen

Nicole and Arashi rushed onto the bridge, talking animatedly. They came around the rail and stopped in front of Hunter. "Commander," Nicole said. "We have video of the attack," she said.

Alec spun in his chair to face Nicole and Arashi. Could this be the break they were waiting for? He desperately hoped for. "Great! Lets see what it shows, though judging by the looks on your faces. You already know."

They glanced at each other then nodded to a rear station. Nicole stepped aside as Arashi sat down and queued up the footage on the station monitor.

The video wasn't at the best angle, but it showed the Captain walking up to the display. They watched as two men entered from another direction, approaching her without sound and unnoticed. The taller, heavier built of the two closed in behind her and swiftly pressed a hypospray to her neck, her lightning swift response in reaction and swiftly breaking the man’s neck in a motion so swift and easy it was clearly well practiced. She staggered, whatever he’d injected into her clearly potent. Her legs giving out, she dropped to her knees while facing the second man standing well out of range, his features partially masked by his position to the camera. “You..you son of a.. you ...”

The Captain tried to call for help, missing her comm badge as she said in a slurred voice which did pick up on the audio guy it was faint and barely legible “Alec... help...attac..”. She slumped over, clearly unconscious.

The man cautiously approached her, tapping his own communicator he said in a calm somewhat amused voice “And that
...is why I agreed when you insisted on being the one to drug her..”

As he turned, Nicole said, "freeze." Her eyes narrowed. "Arashi, can you clear up his face?"

Arashi pressed some buttons on the computer that they were using to magnify the image and then looked at the image. "I am sure that you know this person?" He said but he knew the answer.

As the image enhanced, Nicole and Hunter both swore rather crudely. Alec's hands clenched into fists as he heard Rhea call his name and he made a silent vow that they would find and rescue her safely and return her to where she belonged in command of the Victory. "I should have short-circuited his brain when I had the chance," Nicole grumbled. Suddenly she looked up as another thought occurred to her. She pulled out her tricorder and scanned Arashi quickly. After a moment, she sighed with relief. "Both of you, with me," she said, quietly, heading for the ready room. As they walked, she grabbed Arashi's arm and whispered in his ear. She stopped in front of the doors, opening them and letting Hunter in first.

"I wish you had Nicole. Don't worry, He'll pay in full for what he's done here." Alec replied his voice deadly serious. He looked on in confusion as she scanned Arashi but kept silent. He entered the ready room and once inside turned and waited for Nicole and Arashi to enter. Once they did, he spoke "Okay Nicole, care to enlighten me? Why did you scan Mr. Tanaka?"

Arashi pulled his phaser out as he entered the ready room and pointed it at Hunter. "Do not move, Sir," Arashi said and kept his phaser aimed at Hunter. "Nicole, is he safe?"

Alec stared at the security officer his mouth wide. "WHAT the hell do you think your doing Mr. Tanaka?!" He demanded.

Nicole held her tricorder up and scanned Hunter, watching the screen. After a minute she got a look of relief and nodded. "Stand down, Arashi."

Her comment didn't help Alec's mood. "Just what is going on?"

"Mister Torrance has clearly returned to the flock, and the Terran Empire is establishing some kind of foothold with their attacks," she said. "At this point, I don't trust that we don't have any operatives on board until I've checked. So, until I say otherwise, the only people we can trust are the three of us, Penny and Cassandra. No other information on finding their base leaves this room until I've cleared the crew. I'll head to Sickbay and begin clearing my staff first so they can assist."

"Agreed. Also it's up to the three of us to form a strategy for when we find Torrance, his buddies and the Captain. Are primary goal is getting her back safely. After we get the Captain back, I don't give a shit what happens to the Terran Empire." Alec told the two officers.

Arashi put his phaser away and apologized to the Commander. "Sorry sir, we had to be sure." He said "I want to get my hands on that Torrance, believe me. The Marines can handle the Terran Empire. I want to deal with Torrance myself. I am going to get to the bottom of why he did what he did and if I have to..." He stopped himself from saying anymore because he was angry and he knew it. "All I know is that we need to get the Captain back as soon as possible and she'll probably want words with this Torrance fellow as well." Arashi said after a few moments of gathering his thoughts. "I will make sure to clear my security officers as well so there are no problems."

"Its alright Mr. Tanaka you and the Nicole had to be sure." Hunter answered, "As for wanting a piece of Torrance, I couldn't agree more. Seems we all do. Perhaps we should sell tickets." He paused and continued. "You are right on two counts Arashi. The first is getting the Captain back as quickly as possible and two she'll want to have more than just words with Torrance. You can bet on that."

"So we all agree that Nathan Torrance needs the pekh beat out of him," Nicole said. "We need to find him first." She looked at Arashi. "They beamed out, but they didn't beam in. See if you can track where Nathan went, who he met with, and what ship they have." She looked back to Alec. "I have a couple hundred crewmen to scan. I'll be in touch." She nodded to them both and turned, heading out the door.

Very good Doctor. I leave you to it." Alec answered then to Arashi. "Find them Mr. Tanaka, find them quickly so we can get the Captain back here where she belongs." Alec urged the security officer.

"Aye sir. I will do that."Arashi said with grim determination. "Wherever they have gone, they are going to regret the fact that they pissed off this hound."

Alec nodded, "Very good Mr. Tanaka. I'll hold you to that. So we can deal out our brand of justice." His voice deadly serious.
