Mission:
We Will Take Care of You
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: After First Move
There was sweating. There was chills. There was muscle twitches. Walker had never experienced this, he was half human, but he was sure of what it was. The solution was koon-ut-kal-if-fee. He couldn't focus. He had been asleep for hours and it was good sleep, very good sleep. He tried to get out of his quarters to go to sickbay, but the Computer said he was locked in or unrecognized. The assumption was that he was having a biophysiological response and the Computer didn't recognize him. Looking for his comm badge, he assume he couldn't find it for the lack of focus.
This led to him bypassing the door locks and to sickbay. Normally, if Walker came into sickbay sweating and his heartbeat so loud and hard, it was post training, usually with injuries. "Addams. ADDAMS." At first, he thought he was looking for Addams because he was a Doctor, specifically the CMO. "ADDAMS."
Zach strode out of his office quickly, his teal coat flying behind him, followed by Alice 384. "What in the Holy Hell is going on here?" he said, seeing Walker standing in front of him nearly frothing at the mouth.
Seeing him, he felt a very different emotion. His heart rate increased. Closing his Eyes, Walker tried to lower his blood pressure, trying to control himself.
"Walker, if this is another self-induced training injury, I'll have your pips," Zach said sternly. "What did you do now?"
Walker had tri-colored eyes from his mixed heritage, but the colored portion had changed to amber, "Something is wrong. Training didn't help." He backed up against the wall. "Meditation didn't help." People with his form of heterochromia, their eye color was connected to their heart rate, his were currently single colored, amber, "Tried Vulcan Meditation. Tried Asatru Meditation. Tried Japanese Meditation. Can't stop. Not possible. Only a Quarter Vulcan. Half human. Quarter Klingon. Can't be. Impossible." He didn't know what was really wrong. He assumed it was Pon Far. "Feel emotions." He let out a growl. He didn't ignore or repress his emotions like a Vulcan, but he was about Self Control. He was struggling.
Zach's brow furrowed and he frowned, pulling his tricorder out of the pocket of his coat and flipping it open. He scanned Walker quickly and his eyebrows shot up to his hairline. "Good God," he said quietly, scrolling through the readings. He tapped his combadge three times and an alarm sounded.
Alice 384 tilted her head, observing the interaction.
Two nurses came running with a gurney and Zach stepped aside. "Let's get him into room one. I need fifteen ceecees ambizine and get the CCP ready just in case," he said as he aided the nurses in helping the commander onto the gurney. "Just lie back, Commander, we'll take care of you."
Laying down, Walker said, "A man is the master of himself. A warrior is the master of himself and his environment." There was a rhythm to his words. His tone was precise. He was trying to mediate. This was a type of chant. "I call upon the strength of my ancestors to protect the innocent and defend the weak." His tone spiked at the end. "Owww."
Alice 384 tilted her head, her number plate flashing. "Are you able to determine what is affecting him?"
Zach's eyebrows bobbed. "His blood chemistry is all over the map. If I didn't know any better, I'd say someone gave him a lethal dose of sedative combined with an equally lethal dose of stimulant, just to overload his system." He put a hand on Walker's neck, feeling his pulse, and as they got him into an exam room, helped the nurses grab him and left him onto the biobed.
As soon as the Doctor touched him, Walker growled. "You smell like her." Vulcanoids and Klingons have a higher sense of smell than normal humans. His heart rate was up again. It flooded blood to the surface of his skin, and in humans that can enhance sense of smell and alter hearing ability. He could hear his heartbeat in his ears. "You smell like her."
Zach looked at Alice and then back at Walker. "Well I'll be sure to wear a better perfume next time," he quipped. He took the hypo a nurse offered but eyed Walker warily. He wasn't too keen on another sedative when Walker's readings were already so erratic. He was tempted to let the ogre ride it out. So long as the readings didn't get worse, it looked as if the Commander was through the worst of it.
"Commander, what have you been doing for the last few hours? Did you ingest anything unusual? Or were you 'training' on the holodeck again?"
Walker gripped the bio bed, and worked on controlling his breathing, "Before coming to sickbay, I was meditating. Candles and breathing exercises, not forms. Before that, I was asleep. I woke up feeling like this." He gripped the biobed so hard, his fingernails bled. "Before that, I shared a meal and activities with a woman. We discussed a longterm arrangement. Her becoming Mein Frau."
So potentially something in the food, Zach thought. He turned and looked at his guest. "I'm sorry, but our policy is that medical examinations have a degree of privacy. I'm going to have to ask you to remain outside the examination room."
Alice's number plate flashed and she nodded. "I understand. I will give you privacy." She turned and walked out of the exam room.
As she left, Zach looked at the nurses. "Get Engineering to take Commander Walker's replicator offline and isolate it. Tell them we may have an issue with the replicator system. Also, set up a private room for him to recover. Going to be a rough ride."
As the nurses left quickly, Zach put the hypo down and checked the readings on the biobed. They were still highly erratic, but he still wasn't ready to start sedating him again. "Sorry to pry, Commander, but on the off chance your...'Frau' was affected by this, we should examine her. Who were you dining with?"
Walker growled, "Penny. And you smell like her. I'm going to kill you." He moved fast, not superhuman, but faster than most people people would expect. He grabbed the Doctor by the shoulder in a Vulcan nerve pinch in combination with an eagle claw side inch to compress the vagus nerve. These combined wouldn't kill him, he had something Special in mind for that. Going to the replicator, he spoke, "Glue, Nail polish remover, and shave foam." He ripped apart one of the medical devices, making himself a Modified sprayer. Lifting the Doctor up, using the wall as a brace to make him easier to lift, sprayed his feet. A hardened foam held the Doctor in place. Walker sprayed his entire body, except nose and mouth. He wanted to kill him another way. He left sickbay, passing right by the Android observer.
Alice 384 tilted her head, her number plate flashing rapidly.
