Timeline: Concurrent with "The Potsdamn Negotiations"

Trudy 481 approached the conference room and saw the security chief standing outside. She approached him and gave a slight bow. "I am Trudy Four-Eight-One. I have been instructed to discuss what defensive measures your ship has against its enemies in order to make improvements."

"Of course. It would be wise to shore up defenses, but what do you reccomend?" Arashi said, genuinely curious. He had heard from secondary sources about these people and was going to do research for this mission but was delayed.

Trudy tilted her head, her number flashing on her chest, then straightened up. "I am somewhat familiar with the capabilities on this ship, however a review would be beneficial. I understand your technology still employs shield harmonics. Since we are most interested in increasing your defensive capabilities, it is most logical to begin there."

"Yes it does. The defenses are somewhat inadequate and we have to spend time repairing them at starbases." Arashi said "I have been wanting to do that alot and the fact of the matter is that I could never do it. How do you think we should do it?"

Trudy's number plate flashed again. "A system of interlocking fuses would allow for greater power flow through the shield emitters. It would both allow the shields to absorb more power without overload, and allow for easier repair if they do. If it would help you, we can examine the emitters and determine how the interlocking fuses should be applied."

"Let's go to engineering and get this process started. We'll have to talk to the engineers about your suggestion and get them to implement it." Arashi said "But in the meantime I need to eat something. Join me? I know you probably don't eat but I could use the company."

Trudy's number plate flashed. "I will accompany you," she said, following him. Evidently things would take longer than expected.
