Mission:
We Will Take Care of You
Location: Sickbay
Sydney took a breath after Zach walked past her and walked into Commander Walker's recovery room. She walked over to the replicator and ordered a fresh padd. She then pulled a chair over to the side of the biobed and sat down on it, crossing her legs. "Hello, Commander," she said gently. "How are you feeling?"
Answering, "Well, it appears I hurt someone, most likely the Doctor, in a state where I lost control. So, not good. Physically, I still feel weak. Combined with muscle stiffness...they are doing range of motion, the bare minimum, security in the room when they do it."
Sydney nodded. "Well, you've been through the wringer, as I've been told. What do you remember before you woke up in Sickbay?"
He answered her. "Penny came to my room. Based on the computer, that must have been several hours ago. We shared a meal, discussed a potential relationship, having children, and we had..." he stopped to choose the most professional word, "....activities. That is the last complete memory I have."
Sydney maintained a neutral expression. "I see. How long have you and Penny been seeing each other?"
Walket took a deep breath, "We weren't. We went on one date. My Religion and Culture requires brutal honesty. I showed her a reproduction of my worst memory to her in the holodeck. I bore my soul and she panicked. I've left her alone in that respect. She didn't want to continue dating. I respected that. My religion, my Culture, and my family values holds women and their decisions. She came to me, which shocked me."
Sydney frowned and tilted her head. "I'm confused about the timeline here. So...you and Penny went out to the holodeck, you showed her something that put her in a panic and had her run off, then she came back to your quarters later, discussed a relationship, children, and so on. Then you had sex. And at some point during all this, you were drugged?"
Walker answered, "The dates were months ago. She told me my demeanor and family demeanor didn't mesh well with her. I respected that. Then the other night, she showed up at my quarters and started discussing a relationship and me fathering her children. We had sex a couple of times, then I passed out hard. I think I woke up again and went to sickbay. I smelled her on the Doctor. I created a foam restraint and fastened him to a wall. I went back to get my killing knife. She showed up at my quarters again."
"Ah," Sydney said. "Quite the shift in attitude." *Almost as if she was a different person,* she realized as the truth clicked in her head. "Commander, I think we can chalk this up to extenuating circumstances," she said. "However, we will need to discuss this jealousy issue. Rest for now, and we'll follow up when you're better."
Walker nodded, "I have an absolute Primal and Territorial Streak. Jealousy is a good synonym. I get the sense that wasn't Penny. I got played. I tend to become More Animalistic when I'm Injured. Toxicology would say Damage had been done. I don't have those kind of moments when I've had the poly conversation or when my higher mind is in control. I would like to meditate. There is a pouch next to my bed. It has pictures of my children in it. They are my focus. My truth."
"I'll see about having it returned to you," Sydney said. She stood up and returned the chair to its resting spot. "Get some rest, and we'll talk later."
She lowered the lights and left the recovery room, looking for Zach.
