A Captain's Worries..

Captain's Log, Stardate 49163.4

Two days into our voyage to the fifth planet of the starsytem where it appears the mysterious and infuriating being calling himself "the Caretaker" has apparently sent Lt. Cmdr. Cain, Ens. Danials and several members of the Maquis crew.

During the last two days, we have had time to make further repairs to Voyager's systems damaged as a result of our unexpected and unwelcome arrival in this region of the galaxy. As we travel, I have ordered that the science department make as detailed level scans and charts as they are able of this part of space. Might as well collect what information we can while we're here, but I am quite ready to find my missing personnel, round up the Maquis, and get back to the Array where we must somehow convince this Caretaker to send us back to where we belong.

Currently crew morale is holding strong, but I worry about the effect of our situation on everyone's minds. Right now, with missing personnel to find and then the process of getting back home to focus on - the crew are able to remain focused rather than dwell on what might happen.

If we are unable to gain the Caretaker's assistance to get home, if it should turn out that indeed he is unable to send us back..

No..

I won't let myself think about that. Not right now.

For now, my focus is on finding Jericho as well as Ens. Danials. Retrieving them, along with the missing Maquis. This is a situation I don't think anyone could prepare for, and for the moment I think the best course of action is simply one step at a time...

This Caretaker had the technology to bring us here.. by God he can certainly send us home!
