Mission: Dīvide et Impera ~ Chapter One: Sending Out An S.O.S
(Transporter Room}
Captain Kennit entered the transporter room, pleased to see that she was first to arrive and that Doctor Anderson, along with her very favorite patient and his security escort had yet to arrive.
Cassandra entered the transporter room next and nodded to the Captain. While she had some faith in the Captain keeping her eye on the prize, she still thought it best to ensure things went the way they needed to.
The transporter room doors opened once more, this time on Nicole and Captain Hunter entering together. As they spied the captain, Nicole folded her arms, and Hunter glared at her. "Well, here we are again," Nicole said.
At that same time Alec's voice came from the bridge, "Captain our people are off the freighter. We can beam it's Captain back at your order."
“Thank you Number One.” The Captain replied, her dark eyes never leaving Captain Hunter’s face. “Standby...”
"Aye Captain. Standing by." Alec replied in an especially chipper voice, knowing if Rhea had her choice, dear Captain Hunter would be doing the breaststroke back to his ship.
Stepping forward to block the path to the transporter, Kennit said, “It appears you have a friend in a fairly high place. Take a word of advice. Get in your ship, set course away from here. And don’t come back.” Kennit smiled, her eyes holding the promise of of her next words, spoken in a soft voice, calm and smooth and so full of warning there could be no mistaking it as she said, “There won’t be a next time.”
"Deal," Hunter said, folding his arms. "By the Prophets, if I never see you again, it will be too soon."
"Well, let's see if we can facilitate that," Cassandra said, gesturing towards the transporter pad, and looking to the Captain to step aside and let the hook be baited.
Tanaka took Hunter to the transporter and walked away as he set himself up for transport back to his ship. "If I don't see that guy again, I'll be happy about it." Tanaka said to himself.
Kennit didn’t speak again, just watched silently as the transporter beam energized and Captain Hunter disappeared from the transport pad.
