Mission:
Divide et Impera ~ Chapter 2: Heralding the Chase
Location: USS Victory
Bridge
24 hours after releasing the civilian freighter
On the main viewscreen, a standard comm / sensor relay drifted dark and silent. A micrometeor impact had knocked the device off line, forcing the only Starfleet ship in the sector to alter course and make repairs. Two suited figures could be seen, currently connected via tether lines to the damaged relay. The Captain was seated on her chair, radiating bored frustration without saying a word. She glanced at the time yet again, clearly long past ready to have the repair complete and be on their way.
In space at the relay
“I’ve got the damaged components out, but I can’t get the power connector installed so we can reinstall the rest of the repair parts. The angle is wrong and I can’t brace myself out here to be able to get it properly positioned..” Sam said over her suits comm, turning to look back at where Miguel was braced at the relay access point. “Any ideas?”
"Hold on." he told her as he re-positioned himself and then floated to a spot near and above her. He quickly began to remove an auxiliary control panel. "Alright that should do it. Go ahead."
“Thank you..” Sam answered smartly, quickly maneuvering the repair modules into place. In short order, they had the damaged sections swapped out. “Okay..just need you authorize the power up and internal diagnostics..”
Miguel double checked everything after he reinstalled the auxiliary control panel. Once he was satisfied he gave the authorization for the power up.

Once the Chief Engineer gave the all clear for restoring power to the relay, the Captain gave a quick nod to the XO, who entered the authorization codes into the computer and sent the command signal to the relay. The massive device came online, and they monitored its automated power up diagnostics watching closely for any indication of continued malfunction. All systems read green across the board.
“Excellent work!” The Captain reported. “All system diagnostics are green. The relay is back online and connected to the network. Get back over here so we can be on our way.”
Replying as she joined Torres at worker bee used to move over to the relay, Sam answered “Roger that. We’re on our way now..”
