Mission:
Plaga Navis
Location: USS Victory
Ready Room
Watching silently as Kennit’s First Officer and new Marine CO exited the Ready Room, Admiral Bennett was well aware that the woman behind him was staring at him. He was used to it, and rather than take her to task for the open hostility with which she’d greeted him as well as her refusal to address him by his rank he simply let it slide. Her reasons for her feelings toward her true Commanding Officer were valid he acknowledged, and knew dispite her intense dislike for him.. she was no danger. Not to him anyway..
Once they wer alone, he turned to her. “You’re certain of this. That the data you sent me indicates the presence of an incursion.”
“If you doubted my analysis you wouldn’t be here.” Kennit responded.
Bennett just nodded. “How many.”
“Unknown. The station’s sensors recorded data on a total of four different vessels. All are at face value merchant vessels with defensive armaments however, they are Terran Empire which means any one of them could pose a serious threat in their own right. And if they have merchant ships here, they have warships as well.”
“No doubt.” Bennett agreed.
“Most likely they have colonized at least one system somewhere as yet uncharted by Federation exploration, possibly more.” Kennit said. “Based on consumable supplies taken aboard, they came a fairly long distance to get here. It’s the materials and parts they took on as cargo, as well as materials for weapons development and research, specifically bio-medical facilities and medical items normally used in microbiology research that strikes me as.. of concern.” Kennit told him,
“No question. There are any number of innocent reasons, and even more which are not so innocent. Can you find them?l he asked.
“We will most certainly try.”
“I assume you plan to o after the asset currently incarcerated at Heouron V.” Bennett questioned, “Just do me a favor, and don’t kill half the guard force getting him out.”
She smiled just a little, “If it becomes necessary, no trace will be left to point back to the Federation, Starfleet, or you. Just because I no longer wear your leash, doesn’t mean I have lost my skills.”
“I don’t doubt it..”. Bennett answered. “You will keep me informed.”
“As ever..” she answered simply.
