Mission:
Plaga Navis
Location: U.S.S. Victory
Timeline: Current
Rising in the morning, the first thing Kennit did was seek out her Chief Engineer. Finding him wasn't hard. He was hard to miss.
Strolling into Engineering, she walked to the CEO's office and entered without bothering to knock. It was her ship after all..
"Mr. Torres.. I'm glad to see you're up and at work bright, early and on time. I have need of your services.." Kennit stated as she entered, coffee mug steaming in one hand (and devil take the Doctor and her anti-coffee tirades).
Miguel had been up since the dawn, or at least what passed for it while out in space. It's what he preferred when he wasn't pulling all-nighters. Get in earlier than everyone else find out which of his tasks for the department had been completed during the night, and to see what was still leftover. If there was nothing, he and the staff would have time for special pet projects. At that moment he was looking through the request list of pet projects to see which ones he was going to okay for the next couple of days. "Oh good morning Captain." he said as he looked up from terminal his eyes had been glued to just moments ago. "What can I do for you?"
"I have a somewhat unique problem, and I'm going to need your assistance in order to solve it." She answered. "There is a prisoner held in a detention facility on Heouron V. This situation requires that I get in there, preferably with a force of suitable strength to deal with the guards and native wildlife.. retrieve the asset and get him back here where he can be of use."
She was going to considerable lengths to not be specific about the nature or identity of this "asset".. immediately making the CEO suspicious as he'd worked with her for some time now, and his internal alarms were going off.
"Breaking into a detention facility won't be easy, but it's not impossible." he told her as he looked into her eyes trying to figure out what it was she wasn't telling him. "After all most of them are built in mind with keeping prisoners in and not keeping others out. Who is this... asset you need to retrieve?" he asked using her word for the person.
She balked. Her expression stubborn and even more damning, uncomfortable. "Who it is doesn't really matter does it? Once the asset is freed and aboard the Victory he'll be kept in the brig under guard until such time as he's either provided the information needed or I decide he's not able to provide the information after all and I'll .. handle it."
"Actually it does matter, any plan that is made up to go in and get the person out is going to require some details about them. For instance if it's decided that EVA suits might be needed you'll need to know the size of the individual." Granted he doubted they'd need an EVA suit for this, but he'd know more once he'd look at whatever plan she and her tactical staff would come up with so he could see what equipment they may need or if they'd have to make some specialized equipment."
Looking as if the act of voicing the name left a sour taste in her mouth, she gritted out "Captain Nathan Torrance, of the Terran Empire..."
To her credit, she didn't cringe when he responded.
Miguel wasn't the type that was known for yelling and very rarely was he known to raise his voice. But this wasn't one of those times "Nathan Torrance?!" The part that he was part of the Terran Empire hadn't immediately hit Miguel. That came a few moments later. "Wait a minute that lying piece of worm ridden filth was from the 'mirror universe'?"
“I didn’t know it at the time he was part of the mission..” she snapped. “Don’t take that tone with me. And he wasn’t worm ridden. Slimy and lying filth I’ll agree..”
Miguel moved his neck from side to side causing it to crack as he calmed himself. He didn't trust Nathan, never would. Odds were that he wouldn't see the man anyway.
“I’m going to need special secure accommodations to keep him..controlled and under observation. I don’t want him in the brig. He won’t go along with what I need if he’s locked in an obvious cell. But I want him tracked at all times once he’s aboard. Absolutely no access to the computer systems beyond standard entertainment. And his whereabouts tracked at all times, Video and audio surveillance of the guest quarters he’ll be given and he goes nowhere without escort.” Silent a moment, she said “And no, you can’t break his leg.”
Miguel didn't say anything for a few moments. "We can take one of the empty enlisted quarters and modify it for what you intend. As for tracking him we can always use nanites." he told her. "We can set it up for him to ingest with his first meal and we'll be able to track him, as well as hear what he says or anything that is told to him." he suggested.
“Simpler and more efficient to just inject him with a hypospray.” Kennit commented. “You know what he’s like. We’re going to make it clear even to someone like him what the consequences of crossing the line while on board Victory will be. I’m sure you can impress upon him the reality of the situation..”
"We can probably use your nanoprobes to do it. That way you'll be able to keep track of them if for some reason he is able to block the ship's scans." he told her. It would actually be a fairly easy procedure to do and he wouldn't have to create and then replicate any nanites.
“You’d have to reprogram and alter their function for that to work. How much time will that take you?” Kennit questioned.
"Well using your nano probes will drastically cut down the time since I won't have to make them from scratch." he told her. "When do you need them by?" he asked her.
"Its going to take us approximately 4 days to reach the launch point for the mission to the system were he's being held." Kennit told him. "I'm not taking Victory into the system. Victory will remain out of their sensor range and we'll be using a modified vessel which is being transferred here and will be aboard before we leave the station. Starfleet and the Federation will have no official ties to our activities per Admiral Bennett's orders. We won't leave anything behind to tie our actions in breaking him out to official networks. This one is all Section 31 directed and it's likely going to be a bit dirty."
"Well it shouldn't take me to long to do the programming we need. I can have them done before you leave." he told her as he then got up and moved over to the replicator and programmed it. A few seconds later a container with saline materialized. "Just need you to make your donation." he said pointing into the container.
Her expression one of distaste, none-the-less the Captain obliged and walked to the container. Reaching to the top with her left hand, her fingers and wrist arced slightly, and twin tubules snaked out swift and smooth, injecting a dose of nanites from her system into the saline solution in a silvery cloud which spread throughout the saline to form a shimmery mix in the fluid.
