Mission: Plaga Navis
Location: USS Victory - Sickbay

Sickbay

The sight of an unconscious man being half carried, half dragged into sickbay was.. well sadly not as unusual as the medical staff would have preferred. The absence of Dr. Anderson was however, a noticeable difference. It left the duty attending nurse for the moment in charge of dealing with their newest patient.

"What happened?" Maggie questioned, pointing for the security staff to carry their charge to an open bio-bed.

"He called the CEO "Mickey". I'm thinking the Commander didn't like it.." was the reply.

"Oh my," Maggie said, then turned. "We need a bed!"

Two medtechs ran over and helped haul the unconscious man onto a nearby biobed as Maggie brought over a tricorder and a standard instrument tray. Doctor P'k'ala came around as well, his antennae twitching with curiosity.

Looking their patient over critically, the most immediate indications of his injury was the impressive bruise blooming across his left cheekbone and under the eye. His body was long, muscular and fit. A bit scruffy, his hair shaggy and ragged as if he'd cut it himself with a dull blade. He had the beginnings of beard growth, and some other indications of recent injuries which were starting to pop up on the medical scanner now that he was lying on the bio bed. Mild malnutrition. Looked like he'd had his ribs cracked recently though the injury was healing well.

"Where has this man been holed up?" P'k'ala said, his reedy voice and slow, methodical diction adding a scolding tone to his words.

"All I know is that he was being held in a prison of some sort. Other than that I am not at liberty to say, I assume," Arashi said. "Only because I am not entirely sure what was going on and besides it is hard to keep track of what is going on when you are getting shot at." He looked at Nathan and joined him over at the bed. He watched as the nurses gently laid him on the bed and stood off to the side. He gave the doctor enough room to do his work but have enough room to be able to react if Nathan attacked or did something unexpected.

"He got decked in the jaw too, so you may want to check that as well." He said watching the staff do their work. He smiled a bit, having been a witness to the injury.

"A prison, eh?" P'k'ala said, frowning. "Then stay close, please. I would prefer not to have an uprising in Sickbay. I am sure Doctor Anderson would frown on it."

Maggie handed the Doctor a tricorder and he opened it carefully, scanning Nathan slowly. He scanned the man's jaw and made a noise of disapproval. "Given the severity of the break, I am assuming our Captain was involved." He said something under his breath and held his hand out for a hypo, which Maggie provided. He pressed it to Nathan's neck and then returned it. "Bone knitter," he said. Maggie had it ready, and the Doctor began slowly running it along Nathan's jaw, holding the cracked bone in position as he fused it back together.

"No, it was the Chief Engineer. Did not take too well to being called Mickey apparently. This guy just didn't know to keep his mouth shut and paid for it. As for the other injuries, I am sure that he did nothing to warrant this kind of treatment but what do I know? I am just a security officer, not a judge." Arashi said. He looked to Nathan and smiled. "If he gets out of hand, I can always stun him with this phaser. I have it on a heavy stun setting just for moments when things get out of hand." He placed the phaser back in its holster and watched as the medical personnel did their work.

"Just stand at the ready, Lieutenant," Doctor P'k'ala said calmly, continuing to heal the break.

Cassandra had avoided the drama in the shuttle bay deliberately. Now, she wanted some alone time with their new guest. She stepped into Sickbay and tried not to smile at the double-take Nurse Cromwell gave her.

She'd straightened her hair and used two green locks to tie it back. Her dress was less functional and more flattering and she was carrying her padds in front of her like a schoolgirl. She looked much like she did back at Starfleet Academy and she hoped the effect of a pretty face would help calm their guest.

As Dr. P'k'ala stood up from his patient, she walked up. "Doctor," she said by way of greeting. "How is he?"

"His pride may never recover," Doctor P'k'ala said, amusement making his reedy voice rise in pitch slightly. "However his jaw is mended."

"Good," Cassandra said. "May I speak with him?"

"No signs of concussion and his jaw is mended," he said. "I think he is able to talk." He looked towards Maggie and held out his hand. "Twenty ceecees leporazine please, nurse."

Maggie loaded the hypospray and handed it over. Doctor P'k'ala pressed it to the patient's neck and gestured for Maggie to join him.

As Doctor P'k'ala and the nurse moved away, Cassandra came up and pulled a stool next to the biobed, sitting down gently. She looked at Arashi and smiled. "Some privacy if you don't mind?" she said, sweetly.

"Yes, of course." Arashi said "If he gets out of hand, you know where to find me." He left Nathan to the doctors and went about his business. He had reports to file, food to eat and other things to do but not necessarily in the order that he came up with in his mind.

As Nathan groaned, Cassandra turned her attention back to him. As he opened his eyes, she smiled. "Welcome back," she said. "I'm sorry for the inconvenience."

Intense blue eyes focused on her and narrowed. "Since when does Starfleet put little girls on a combat ship.."

Cassandra batted her violet eyes at him and pouted slightly. "Not a very nice thing to say to someone trying to see to your comfort. I hope you're feeling better."

“Uh huh..” he grunted at her. “Where is the Captain?”

"I believe she's in her ready room," Cassandra said. "I can take you to her, if you're cleared to leave Sickbay, or..we could talk." She blushed, the golden-pink glow of her skin deepening a bit. "I've never met anyone from the other side."

He gave her a look. “Other side? What do you think I am, some sort of paranormal being crossed over from the great beyond?”

"No, I've met those," she said. "I meant from the alternate reality that's entwined with ours. I understand you're from there."

“One of many dimensions I have no doubt. It’s not that interesting. Though I am surprised always by how weak you here are.”

"I suppose it depends on how you measure strength," Cassandra said, diplomatically. "Hopefully you'll regain what was taken from you."

Torrance let out a short bark of laughter. “Taken from me? What makes you think anything was taken from me?”

"I'm surprised you don't feel it," Cassandra said. "I suppose ignorance is bliss though." She smiled and shrugged. "I suppose you aren't in the mood to converse though, so I'll leave you be."

Nicole stalked into Sickbay, Hunter following close and snapped her fingers. "Maggie! Beds ready?"

"Yes, Doctor," Maggie said.

"Good, get us--" she stopped and froze in place, staring at Cassandra and Torrance, her eyebrows far up. She cleared her throat and hopped onto a biobed. "Get us scanned and out. I want this done in minutes, not hours."

"Yes, Doctor," Maggie said as Doctor P'k'ala moved to the other biobed with Commander Hunter, scanning him slowly.

Maggie scanned her slowly and Nicole sighed and took the tricorder from Maggie, watching the readouts from the probe scan. Her levels were a bit elevated, but that was normal when she'd had something heartier than her elixir. "I'm fine," she grumbled and swung her legs over the biobed. "You good?" she said to Hunter.

Alec was still smarting from the argument with Rhea and her pulling rank on him. Lying on the biobed he turned his head to look at Nicole. He shrugged his shoulders, "Right as rain." He replied curtly not wishing to elaborate and his tone indicating his still lingering anger.

"Good," she said then looked at P'k'ala. "He's clear to leave once you're done," she said. She watched Cassandra and their new guest and debated about whether or not to interrupt.

For his part, Nathan was fed up with this. And it showed. “What I want.. is to know why my ‘wife’ went to such lengths to pull me out of that prison after leaving me there for nearly a year only to disappear on this ship.. which ever ship it is.. and let that muscle bound lunkhead knock me out..”

Nicole walked up and tapped Cassandra on the shoulder. "You're dismissed," she said, coldly. Cassandra stared at her for a moment and Nicole's eyebrows went up slowly. "Now."

As Cassandra tucked tail and walked away, Nicole smiled down at her patient, flipping open a tricorder and scanning him slowly. "Your 'wife' went to those lengths because she wants something from you. You are on the USS Victory and that lunkhead knocked you out because of your generally dick-ish behavior. All caught up, then? Good." She looked over the readings and made an adjustment to her tricorder.

"Maggie," she said, looking over at her head nurse, "prep the bay."

"Yes, Doctor," Maggie said, hurrying out of the room.

Nicole turned back to him. "Now, would you be so kind as to tell me any medical conditions you had while in prison, and any others I should be aware of?"

The smile on Nathan’s face was quite suggestive as he said, “I am always the gentleman. If the lady desires something from me, I am honor bound to serve her every pleasure...”

"Oh, I see," Nicole said a lascivious grin spreading across her face. "Well perhaps we should step into a more private area?" She stepped back and gestured towards the doorway to the rear of Sickbay.

Nathan sat up, his eyes roaming the doctors form as he said “it isn’t nice to tease Doctor. I’ve been without the pleasure of female company for far too long...”

"I'm not bluffing," Nicole said, looking him dead in the eye. "You walk through there and it will be extremely pleasurable." She growled slightly and ran a finger along his jaw. "Assuming you can handle it."

Sliding off the bio bed to stand close to her he said, “I handled her just fine until she decided she was pissed at me. The real question here is can you handle me?”

"Only one way to find out," Nicole said, turning and sauntering towards the back rooms.

Watching the sway of her hips a moment, he smiled. Licked his lips, and followed.

She led him around the corner and through another door into the surgical bay. "Climb up," she said, patting it playfully.

He moved quickly, hands around her waist and lifted her easily to swing her up to sit on the medical table. Moving so her legs straddled his hips as he stood before her Nathan ran his hands down her thighs, thumbs brushing the inner area as he said “Like to play doctor.. is that it, Doctor?”

As his his eyes bored into hers, she smiled and her eyes turned red. She watched his face go slack and his hands slip from her legs and she slipped down from the biobed, holding his gaze.

"Now, let's talk," she said, sweetly.

Amicably, Nathan replies “Okay.”

Laying on the biobed. Alec waited for P'k'ala to finish the scan, "You about done Doc?" He asked trying to keep the edge off his voice and not entirely sure he succeeded. Rhea was mad with him and combined with the fact of listening to first Cassandra and now Nicole talk to Torrance was making him nauseous and he wanted to be anywhere but here. Staying on the planet was looking better and better.

"I'll let Doctor Anderson be 'Doc'," Doctor P'k'ala said, his reedy voice drying out his words even more. "I'll remain 'Doctor', thank you, Commander. However you are perfectly healthy and may return to duty when you wish." He shut down the biobed and handed his tricorder off to Nurse Cannivali.

"Great." He said as he slid off the biobed. He was ready to leave when he saw Nicole saunter past, with Torrance following closely behind with a leering, hungry look on his face. "I think I'll stay. This looks to be interesting." He muttered to himself.

Maggie walked back into Sickbay and towards Dr. P'k'ala. "That was odd," she said.

"What was?" he replied.

"Doctor Anderson had asked me to set up the surgical bay, but then she locked me out." She turned and saw the now empty biobed their guest had occupied. "Is she in there with that patient?" she said, shocked.

"It appears so," P'k'ala said, his antennae twitching.

"I'll have to prepare another slab in the morgue," Maggie said.

Alec strolled toward the surgical bay, "I think I'll have a look." He said half to himself, walking more quickly towards the bay.

Just as Alec got to the door to the corridor, Nicole came back in. "Shh," she said, "he's having a restful nap." Her eyes flashed red and she winked at him.

She walked up to Maggie and whispered in her ear. Maggie blushed hard and grinned and nodded. "Yes, Doctor," she said. "Oh, also, we have new science officer aboard. She's yet to report in.

"Grand," Nicole said, grabbing her bag from where she'd left it. "I'll hunt her down. When he comes to, don't let him linger."

"Yes, Doctor," Maggie said, smiling.
