Mission:
Plaga Navis
Location: Shuttle Bay
Shuttle Bay
Crossing the hanger deck, the Captain approached the Ranger listening to the sounds of work going on inside the undercover ship. Boarding the vessel, she found Cmdr Torres working on the final touches for the special cargo unit which would carry the bottled booze for transport. “How’s it going Chief?”
Miguel had just finished running the final scan of the structure when the Captain had walked up to him. "It's installed and structurally sound. As long as they don't attract to much unwanted attention the bottles should make it in one piece." He told her as closed his tricorder.
Giving him a look, she said “You’re so reassuring..”
"I may be a damn good engineer, but I can't manufacture miracles." he told her. Truth was he still wasn't a fan of how Command was handling this. But he trusted the Captain.
“I don’t need miracles. I need for this little intel session to run smoothly and that isn’t a matter for paranormal hoodoo. It’s a matter of training and following orders.” She was silent a moment, then said “Which means it’s going to go south fast. I will likely need a sample of your wares left behind for moral fortitude.”
"Now what kind of Engineer would I be if I didn't make sure I had an ample supply in reserve for my customers?" he said with a smile. "Plus I'll probably have a fresh batch made in the next day or two." he promised.
“Are you really going to make me wait that long?” She said with a melodramatic sigh of disappointment.
He looked at her with an almost Vulcan like expression on his face. "Well you did say you wanted me to bottle up everything we had." he told her.
She crossed her arms, “That is not what I said. What I said was replicate the majority of the stock to be loaded and add enough of your own home brew to give it a kick.”
"And I reminded you that wasn't possible. Anything we replicate is Synthehol, and because of it's chemical structure it turns any real alcohol combined with it, inert. Many people have tried, no one has been able to figure out how to fix it yet."
She crossed her arms, “Are you arguing with me?”
"Me argue?" he said doing his best to sound shocked. "Captain you know I'd never argue with you... especially when I'm right." he added with a smile.
She blinked at him. "You are.... you're trying to argue with me." she mock sighed. "Shameful."
"That make absolutely no sense. Why would I do that?" he asked her.
"That's what I'm trying to figure out.." she muttered. Letting out another sigh, she said "So.. how long before the ship is ready."
"If I wanted to argue with you... you'd know it." he said and looked at the tricorder he still had opened and then finally closed it. "Now that this is done, I'll get a team to load the cargo. The ship will be ready to launch once the the crew gets on board." he answered her.
"Lets hope they bring it back in one piece.." she muttered.
"That would be a miracle..." he said sounding about as hopeful of that as she was.
